Firs Road closure for resurfacing

The long awaited works to repair and replace the surface of Firs Road starts on 12th November for 4 days.

Full closure of the road as a through route is expected during daylight hours.

The work will be carried out in sections. The Parish Council have not been formally notified what arrangements will be made for residents access but it is expected there will be some disruption, with access likely to be restricted at certain times with no access to the A30 or the Winterslow direction – but not both at the same time.

Pedestrian access should not be impacted.

Bus services are likely to be suspended or diverted.

Daytime parking restrictions will be in place on Firs Road with any vehicles in the way of the works likely to be removed.

Residents should be aware that works will by noisy with potentially large amounts of dust being produced where the road surface is removed.

Wet weather may well impact and delay the works.

The Parish Council will provide further updates when they are available and notices will be placed on the notice boards nearer the time. Please pass this information on to friends and neighbours within Firsdown.
